Mancer - Magic User

A mancer is a magic user that is limited to yielding a specific type of magic. The most famous types of mancers are pyromancer and necromancer.

To find the name of a mancer, you take the name of the element the mancer yields and add the suffix mancer to it.

When naming mancers, you should look at languages such as Latin.

Here is the list of mancers I’ve used in my stories, and some I’ve encountered.

In my book, Princess in the Clouds, I have twenty elements, organized according to the five Platonic solids.

The Elements

Base Elements
The four-sided Tetrahedron has Earth, Water, Air, and Fire to give the base elements.

Extended Elements
Add Metal and Lightning to get the six-sided Hexahedron or cube. This gives us the extended elements.

Natural Elements
Add Nature and Power to get the eight-sided Octahedron. This gives us the natural elements.

In addition, we can define specialized mancers, seen in many places.
